About David
Hi. I'm Dr. David Maloney, founder and manager of Next Level Learning. Firstly, a little about myself. I've always been interested in education and helping students achieve their absolute best. My career thus far has given me a somewhat unique perspective on what is involved in various levels of education. Basically, I am interested in how the thoughts students use shape their quality of life as well as their academic success. After gaining teaching experience in 2nd level and 3rd level education, I developed programs that would help students deal with the common study difficulties they regularly encounter. Research I conducted in this time demonstrates that there are a number of key principals that help students engage with academic work effectively and that these principals can be adopted by anyone! Now, I visit schools and universities all over Ireland and the UK teaching students these techniques. I also do workshops with teachers on the importance of self-care and understanding student psychology. In addition, I deliver talks to parents on how best to support their learner through the academic journey.
Dr. David Maloney (Reg. Psychol., Ps.S.I.: Membership number – M7933R), B.Ed, H.Dip. Psych, Ph.D Cog. Psych.
Dr. David Maloney (33) holds a degree and PhD in Psychology. He is also an experienced teacher at 2nd and 3rd level, registered on the Teaching Council of Ireland. His main interests lie in the area of Cognitive Psychology and Mindfulness. Drawing on many disciplines such as Psychology, CBT, and NLP, David's writing and private sessions focus on how the thoughts we use influence the quality of our daily lives and impact on our long-term goals.
As well as private consultation work, David is also actively engaged in academic psychology research. He has delivered several Psychology modules at University level and has been published in peer reviewed academic journals.
